About Department
The department of Chemical Engineering was established in 1989 offering B. Tech. course with an intake of 30 students, which was enhanced to 50 in the year 2001 and subsequently to 60 in the year 2009. The department has started M. Tech. Chemical Engineering course in the year 2001 with an intake of 25 students, M.Tech Nano Technology in the year 2012 an intake of 25 students and M.Tech Environmental Engineering in the year 2016 with an intake of 25 students. The department is also having research facilities for Ph. D in Chemical Engineering.
The students are provided good computing and internet facilities. The department has well equipped laboratories, including pilot-plant facilities. Certain sophisticated equipment like Computer- controlled bioreactor, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Gas Chromatography, High Performance liquid chromatography and Millipore water purification system have been purchased for carrying out research work by students and faculty. The department also has several research projects funded by BRNS, AICTE, UGC etc.
