The Department of Mathematics was established along with the Engineering departments in 1946. Since its inception, the department has remained committed to advancing the understanding of fundamental scientific concepts while promoting collaborative and interdisciplinary research across various disciplines.
The department offers Engineering Mathematics courses to B.Tech I-IV year students across all engineering branches. Also the Department of Mathematics serves as the foundation for engineering education, equipping students with the analytical and problem-solving skills essential for innovation and technological advancement. Department plays a pivotal role in all engineering disciplines, providing the theoretical and computational tools necessary for designing efficient systems, optimizing processes, and solving complex real-world challenges. Department of mathematics is committed to delivering a rigorous curriculum that enhances students’ mathematical proficiency while fostering a deep appreciation for its practical applications in engineering and beyond.
The department has been fortunate to be led by well experienced professors such as Prof. Ashwatha Narayana, , Prof. Raghu Prasad Rao, Prof. Hazaraiah, Prof. Rama Chandra Reddy, Prof. C. Sankaraiah, Prof. A. Rama Krishna Prasad whose leadership has significantly shaped its growth. Over the years, the department has cultivated a team of experienced and qualified faculty members who have contributed extensively to studies in areas including Fluid Dynamics, Fixed Point Theory, Algebra, Number Theory, Real Ananlysis, Graph Theory, Approximation Theory, Complex Analysis, Differential Equations, and Theoretical Computer Science, Operation Research and Fuzzy Logics.
